The importance of proper watering can not be emphasized enough for your container garden. Gardens in containers exposed to wind and sun to dry faster that plants in the ground. There is no specific rule for watering your container garden plants. You should know the needs of various garden plants. The best council is to consider each day and water the plant when the soil surface begins to look dry. Feeling the earth will also help you determine the water needs of your container garden. The general rule it is best to soak the soil thoroughly when water, then let go a little dry before watering your container garden again. Best of all, bring a spiral notebook and paste the care of each plant on the same so you always have the needs of each individual plant at your fingertips.
If you go for long periods during the summer, give the container garden a serious thought before making a project. Moreover, you can enjoy the holidays and the plants if you are away for short periods. The best protection is to give your container garden to a responsible friend. Or if you go on a trip to your second home, or rent one, take the container garden with you as a bit of home.
Several techniques can be practiced. The first is to keep smaller containers in boxes of peat moss, saw dust, or land which has been well soaked. Then there's chock method whereby small pots are placed in large, damp peat inserted between the two.
As mentioned above, in many centers container garden of irrigation are available. They are ideal for your container garden when you travel or vacation.
