How can I recover the dead plants in The Sims 3?

Two of my tomato plants have attained perfect sterile conditions in my garden. My SIM card with 10 levels of gardening, Green Thumb and Green Thumb Super Reward function of life, and yet he revives the plants. So what's the deal? Will I learn how to reward skill, as the cheese factory or eggplant, or am I missing out the painfully obvious? I would like to resolve this before my flower of death is the way the tomato. I think you can live again 'plants died.'s Not sterile. So, if your plants are sterile Unfortunately, I think there is nothing you can do for him.
